ok so i took my friends stock sr for a spin the other day, at WOT aka full boost, his car seems to actually pull me back into the seat compared to my car

my sr specs:
S13 head, s14 bottom end
Apexi headgasket
S14 t28
Toda Racing Cams 264's
Toda Adjustable Cam Gears
Toda Valve Springs
Tomei Rocker Arm Stoppers
Denso Iridium Plugs
ACT Prolight Flywheel
Stage 1 spec clutch

my friends sr has a stage 3 clutch, but i don't see that making a difference since my clutch isn't slipping or anything like that..

i checked for vaccum leaks, couldn't find any. when i give it full throttle it it builds up to around 6psi it looks like, and i know i don't have a vaccum leak.. my question is.. do my cams need to be timed in order for them to even add power? i swear full throttle feels alot better on my friends stock sr than mine, haha..

when im at WOT, my a/f reads around 11.5, and doesn't stutter or anything.. so i know timing has to be right on or close

full boost for your engine is only 6 psi? without any other info I'd say thats why. I'm keeping my boost low right now because I want to add some more gauges to know for sure what's going on inside my engine, and I want to change out some stuff, like the head gasket so I know it can handle higher boost before I turn it up.

even with that considered I run like 7.5 psi. and running 9 to 11 psi on a totally stock SR isn't unheard of. if you're running 6 and he's running 10 thats like 30 HP right there. of course without more details on his setup this is only speculation.

My big question is HOW are you only running 6 psi? Your wastegate should be stronger than that...

What is your ignition timing at?
Should be around 15* BTDC
If it is lower (say... 0*) you would make boost but not really go anywhere. This actually happened when I rebuilt my motor, friend set it at 0* and the car was making boost but going no where.

Your cam timing may also be off.

Normally you want it a bit higher than that. Well, you DO want it higher than that - But there shouldn't be a real problem unless it is unbalanced throughout the 4 cylinders. I would have that checked out - Its probably about due for some of these S13 SR's in country to start running into a bit more wear and tear, anyways.

The wear and tear of S13 SRs has existed for a while.. There's a reason a lot of them already have aftermarket parts.

First of all, your car is not "built".....

#1 Get something to adjust your a/f ratio

#2 Get some injectors (550's)

#3 Get a boost contoller

#4 set your boost at 1 bar

#5 dynotune your car

#6 make 280whp

#7 own your friends

on the cam itself it does not look like scoring marks, it just looks stained unless you can feel a groove on the lobe. As far as the cam holders did you use brake clean and try to wipe off those marks? Or run your finger through it and see if it is a groove.

Did you not use assembly lube when you installed them?
