I finally got my engine done, took me about 3 months to save and wait for parts and machine work to get done. I assembled the engine myself and found it to be very easy. You just have to remember to take your time and make absolutley sure everything you assemble is as clean as possible to avoid contamination. List of parts used: CP Pistons bored .020 over, Crower rods complete with ARP rod bolts, Clevite rod, main, and thrust bearings, ARP head and main studs, Comp springs, Crower titanium keepers, Greddy rocker stoppers, new rocker arms from NISSAN,new valve stem seals from Clevite, Cometic metal head gasket, new valve cover gasket, new oil pump front cover, new water pump, new timing chain, guides, and tensioner,Greddy intake manifold, Greddy oil pan, I also got my valve cover powder coated gunmetal saem color as my VOLk's.

The machine work was worth the wait, engine looked brand new (NO JOKE). The block was bored .020 over for my CP pistons, and it was also line bored. The block was decked to make sure the gasket would sit flat. As far as the head that is where alot of the work and money went. For startersthe head was decked flat just like the block, minor porting in the intake ports but nothing on the exaust. I asked the guy why not do the exaust side as well and he said when you smooth out rather than enlarge ports (speaking about the exaust side) you maintain a smoother flow but you keep your velocity. Anyways, I have nothing done on the exaust side, but the bowl area underneath the valves were enlarged alot, I got a 5 angle valve job on the intake and a four on the exaust. The exaust guides were removed and the head was bored for bronze liners around the exaust guides. The face of the valves were coated with a thermal barrier and baked for 10 hours. I asked him about this coating and he told me that this coating is very strong and will lower the valve temps not 30 degrees but 30 percent.

It took about one week to assemble, doing a little bit at a time after i got off of work. I have to tell you i had no idea how bad i missed my car, it has been down four about five months due to a wrist pin failure on my last SR.My last SR i had the normal upgrades T3/T4 stage three turbine, 555cc injectors and a Z32 MAF, of course rom tuning by Scott. I trasferred all my existing upgraded parts to my newly built engine. Cranked it up and imediately started smiling, when i started it up and it ran for the first time in so long i looked up into the sky and told my good friend Paul (HOW YA LIKE ME NOW)...LOL. I knew he was there in spirit and happy for me,

I am still waiting on the usuall back order crap, CAMS and FUEL INJECTORSI am goin with HKS 264 step one on both intake and exaust. and SARD 850cc FUEL INJECTORSand get it tuned . But i can tell you this mother is damn fast after putting some miles on it i turned it up to 17psi and layed into in 3rd gear goin 80mph. The entire car got sideways, I nearly messed all over myself...TO SAY THE LEAST I WAS VERY GIDDY!!. I am looking to get around 550 to 600 whp when it is all said and done, going to upgrade my turbo again for a GT35R. I am getting some pics together and will be putting them on this weekend to show the finished product

Awsome.

On the porting issue. I have found that removing the casting marks and opening the intake up just a tad BUT leaving a textured finish works best on that side. Same for the combustion chamber. The texture helps with fuel atomization. On the exhaust polish it to a mirror finish. Port match both sides to match the manifolds. We did this on my brothers car and after close to 10000 miles there was still no stuck on soot in the exhaust ports.
