FS CA18DET

Okay so I am selling my ca that I just built so I can build a KA-T. So here is whats done to the block.

Block was taken to Tommy Goza local guy in Georgia that builds the Nitro Methane Drag Cars and Top Fuel Cars. Yeah he is damn good.

-Block dipped in acid to clean off-Block bored over .2-Block Honed-Head Cleaned-Custom CP pistons and rings-Shotpeened Rods-Cometic 1.2mm Head Gasket-Oem Nissan Thermostat-Oem Nissan Oil Pump-Oem Nissan Water Pump-Calico Rod bearings and main bearings-Turbo XS manifold-Turbo XS 3" downpipe-New Belts -Crank is micro polished -Rotational assembly is ballanced to 18k rpm's -XTD stage 3 Six puck iron disk clutch -Resurfaced FLywheel-5 Speed transmission-Ecu-Uncutt wireharness already wired into the Ka harness-Powder coated valve cover (Prizmatic black)-Turbo has no shaft playThe motor has about 1500 miles on it. It runs really smooth and the clutch grabs really well. It was broken in correctly and has been taken care of very well. The motor has not been pushed to the limits!I am asking $2500 obo. Complete fmic setup can be purchased for $450.00 it has only been driven on once since I just did that setup after having a smic.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back to get your CA built to those specs?

i just want to confirm that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the motor. And i'm curious as to how you broke it in. Answer those two and i'll be down the second the KA is done.

I have to snap some pics cus the comp I used to store pics on is torn apart right now. I will get the recepits for you aswell. Also the break in started with the car idoling for about 45 min when it was first turned on so the rings could set. Then the car was broken in for about 1500 miles never going over 4k. Oil was changed at 1000 miles.

What????? That is the worst possible thing you could have done!!! The piston rings need load on them to be seated! For 45mins all you did was wear down the walls with no load against the wall. Now that the grit on the walls is gone, there is no way to achieve a good seal again without getting the motor rehoned.

EDIT: Unless of course, the motor was plateau honed...

slow idle is really not a good idea, a really good thrash will help at this point though. you can get de-glazing oil which will help too

OK so far from the time of the break in I have had no problems. Smooth acceleration. Never driven a car as smooth as this one. I dont know how many motors you have rebuilt or put together but every time we build one we let the rings settle by letting the car idle for about half an hour. If you got any problems you are more then welcome to call Eric at the shop 6787704516 he can tell you why we do it and that it causes no problems
