Hey guys i have and half rb20 motor sitting at my shop and theres something i can't figure out to find...and was wondering if anyone had them sitting around...ok i have the rods but i'm missing the caps for them...thats the major part..also ive been looking and i couldnt find anything different from the rb20de and the rb20det except the compression...is that correct or am i wrong..

if you use different rod caps to mix and match to make a set you will have tollerance issues...they big ends will need to be resized and you may need to use different bearings to suit.

doubt you will find anyone to sell you just the caps.

if you do manage to find caps like carl there a matched set. but if you get arp hardware(im hoping you do since its all apart) you will need a line bore anyway and that should take care of that issue.

when i rebuilt my engine i fitted arp rod bolts and had the big ends checked and resized if needed.

Yeah don't they break the big end of the rods when they are manufactured.

I would clean those rods up, hang them on the wall for decoration. Buy a new set of complete rods.

Before you put them in have them magnafluxed for cracks.

check spooling for forged RB20 rods if your doing a build.

I think the company is just Spool.Not sure though.

Google it.
