I have a 90 sohc 240sx hatch. right now im getting agx with sportlines, and everything is oem. Just replaced tension rods, tie rods that were worn.

Its going to be my dd and I dont want boost. Is there anything I can do to it to gain some hp. are intakes just a waste of money?

this is just a random question and doesnt have to do anything with my dd 240. but whats the difference between aftermarket intercooler and radiator

A radiator cools the WATER for your COOLING system.

An intercooler cools the AIR coming your TURBO SYSTEM.

imo, if you dont wanna boost, you wont be seeing any significant hp gains. Anyways, 2.5" exhaust and header will give possibly a 10-15hp gain, along with a 5hp gain (if that) from an intake... the only possible gains felt is response.

fix your headlights. Most likely, its just the switch, for its a common problem, rather than the motors like you suggested.

the lights turn on its just that the lights wont flip down/ flip up there at the flip up position.

I hate myself looks like I have to leave the 240 alone.

did you change the switch? That switch also controls the headlight possition

its really not that hard... and if it's not a certified Nissan tech, chances are he'll think its a relay or something instead of a switch... they usually never know. all you have to do is unscrew the cover thingy behind the steering wheel and unplug the switch and plug the new one in... its not brain surgery. I'd consider doing an oil change harder than this...

Check your fuses perhaps? The odds of both motors dying is slim...

Just try to do it yourself, and if you **** it up then take it to the mechanic to fix it... you will be able to do it don't worry. I have no personal experience but it sounds like a very easy procedure. This way you will be learning slowly and next time something happens you might be able to fix it yourself or at least have enough confidence to try and fix it.

wow I didnt realize you can turn your headlights off by a switch on the left so even if you turn your headlights on it wont turn on. I just click the button and my headlights are working.

sorry...

Also I got used oem shocks installed(cheapest way out). Currently my car is in fine working condition.

only if there was something reliable out there $500 or less that can give me hp increase that can be noticed

You would notice a difference with an after market 2.5 inch exhaust and an intake, that would put you at about 500 bucks if you spend wisely.

First off,

If you want a daily driver you must have the car running Perfect even before you think about trying to gain more Horsepower~

You need to go to the nearest import shop.

1. Do an oil change on all the drivetrains, motor, transmission, open diff.2. GET NGK wires and plugs Vpowers are sufficient~3. Get the car timed.4. Get a K&N drop in. (or Ebay cold air with a K&N cone)5. Check all tire pressures~6. Throw in a Fuel system cleaner~

7. Get a tank of 89/ 91 octane~ (then move down to 87 when you're broke like me)

After you've done the Above~ then ask about mods.(If you have an automatic, Please disregard everthing and sell your car and get a 5 speed)

stock intake is more restrictive compared to an aluminum mandrel bent aftermarket intake. you'll see slight performance increase, and most likely better mpg

The KA transmissions are reliable as long as you don't pop the clutch more then a few times. The previous owner of my 240 did that just a few times and shelled the transmission, that is how I got the car so cheap.

When I head 'daily driver' i thnk of it as, quiet, not too noticeable cars. I really cant pull off a loud car as a daily drivers car so perhaps a quieter exhaust?

I recommend Tanabe MT. Quiet enough for ur daily driving needs.

This thread = fail

Take heed to what Duce40sx posted and end this nonsense. Worry about a 3" RSR exhaust when you actually need one.

Around here, boobs driving around in poorly tuned and cheaply accessorized cars with 3" exhausts is so damn weak.

Take time to read this forum so you don't look like such a boob.

If you plan on doing a KA-T setup, just start saving your cash now. A three inch exhaust on a NA car is, as a few people have said, very stupid. After a month of enjoying a tiny HP gain you will start to hate your exhaust with a passion. It detracts from your car man, having a big noisy exhaust draws unwanted attention too.

If i were you i would get an ebay intake for a KA and leave it at that. Just open a bank account and start saving for your ka-t setup or whatever.
