ok so im sure ill get an answer from evil soon enough lol

was wondering if building a hybrid n42 block from a 78 with dished pistons and a p90 turbo head with a 2mm head gasket and APR studs would be safely hold 15 psi of boost.

probably with megasquirt and a holset turbo.

crazy idea im toying with. will not reveal till i commit

15 lbs fomr a holset...wel depends ont he holset, if it's the hx35 or hy35 or larger thats pushing your luck 15 psi fomr the stock turbo wiht an intercooler yes, maybe even 15 psi from a T3O4E, remember all psi are not created equal, psi is a measure of pressure, lbs/min is a measure of volume

and f course you'll need bigger injectors to go with anything larger than a stock turbo

yup, nothign wrogn with the N42 block, some argue it's stronger thant he F54 and the dished pistosn are the same volume as the turbo, don't forget about the oilpan, oil "T" and oil feel line

ok

well

ill throw it out here.

its going in a 240sx

so MS is probably a definite, reason being is i HAVE the longblock.

can get the turbo parts (everything but the turbo) for 200

and while its been done, it hasnt been done to death.

rebuild w stock rings seals etc.

probably less money than an SR (and if not at least i can upgrade gradually after the longblock is assembled)

I know of 2 in a 240sx, one (srman) I sold the guy half the parts he paid some hack to wire in the stock harness and ecu, I fixed it for him, the other is pallnet on hybrid and I sold him the z31 electronic's to use ont he swap, so no it doessn't have to be MS, but if you want to use larger injecotors and turbo's it's a good idea!

and you need a maxima oil pan whihc I think I still have

not quite sure what you're asking but megasquirt is open source and a very flexible format with built in extra IO ports for truely unlimited customization, yoiu can run knck sensors, electronic boost control, control electric fans,, run open loop, closed loop it practically tunes itself with a wideband
