So I'm about to start building up a new KA24DE cause I just landed an awesome job

My problem is I'm an over-doer. I get more than is needed because I need the peace of mind.

Basically what I'm saying is what do I ABSOLUTELY need, besides the rods/pistons, and replacing the timing assembly? Is it necessary to rebuild the head?

I just want a list of parts I absolutely need or should get for a mild 280hp-300hp build.

well if your goals is just 280-300 hp then just use the stock motor and turbo it cause it can handle 300 hp daily driving. just need to do some research on ka-t.org or anywhere on this sites. you will find what you need.

Well I don't really trust stock internals. I have done my research...I've been sitting in this forum for the last few months but now I have a job so I'm like YESSS!

I wanna at least get pistons, rods, clevite bearings, a timing chain rebuild, metal headgasket, bc valves and springs, and everything machined etc...

I'll be keeping it N/A for a few thousand miles to break it in and save up cash for boost. And when I boost I'll upgrade ecu/fuel/whatever

Any suggestions welcome...Build thread will start in about 2 weeks.

rods, pistons, bearings, gasket kit, timing kit, oil pump rebuild kit, ARP headstuds, maybe ARP main studs

stay away from metal head gaskets, the block and head have to be PERFECTLY flat for them not to leak, and i have personally seen Fel-Pro hg's hold 500hp, then if you pop a hg you dont have to order one, run up to the parts store and pay half the price

well if you want to build a 500 hp and up then go for it but if your goals are just 250-300 then use the stock block you can upgrade head gasket, head bolts, rod bolts, and you are good you dont need all the other stuff if your not pushing high power. if you want to know more then go to ka-t.org you will find more answers.
