My motor (KA24E) has horrible compression so I am getting ready to rebuild it. I have a DE block that I was planning on using for the rebuild because it has oil squirters.

Are the blocks interchangeable?

If I stuff E pistons and crank in DE block will the timing cover and components of an E bolt up? What about compression ratios? I am assuming block heights are the same and there for I would remain at stock E compression 8.9:1

Can anybody confirm or deny this?

figured it out myself.

De needs an extra oil galley. It is possible but it requires a lot of machining.

yup. the de block has its oil pick up through the front cover while the e block has the pickup going through the block. You can use a de head on a e block but not the other way around......unless you machine.
