I wanted to rebuild a ca18det whenever I got it but then I starting thinking why not just build it from scratch I know I can use the pular's block or something like that. I remember talking to NeedCAforS13 about it. He give me a list of the parts I would need to get that's here in the us. Can't seem to find it anywhere, would anyone know what parts? If so post up a nice list of the stuff I would need to get. TIA

Did a search on building CA18DET and this is the closes thing I found to building a CA18DET from scratch but it's rebuilding not building from scratch.

I'm fairly sure none of the US-spec CA18DEs come with crank girdles. Not that its required, but it would be something you would have to source yourself if you wanted it.

Get a ca18det block imported, sourced from somewhere here. Hell i think ca18det is selling his block. But then u can go junkyard hopping searching for pieces to go in.

You won't have a crank girdle or piston oil squirters if you build the DE block. You'll also have to come up with all of the electrical and a transmission. Just get a motorset and rebuild it.

Yea that makes more sence I was just curious.

What would I replace when rebuilding the motorset and where would I be able to source the parts from?

88 Nissan Pulsar.

Would you be the first CA18DET in PR? Are there any swapped 240's over there, SR or CA?

If you were going to do this from scratch you might want to consider, and figure in the cost of, going with a standalone system.

What do you plan to put this in?
