Build your own sway bar?

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Has anyone built their own swaybar? Or have some kind of knowledge in this?

Im doing a RB26 Swap in a 300zx, and according to what others say, the sway bar will hit the stock rb26 oil pan.

Im not paying 750$ for a custom one.

Anyways I got a piece of bent solid steel pipe from work. I was thinking about cutting a section out of the stock sway bar and welding the piece I got from work in there. I think it would hold up for daily driving usage, but not sure about how well it would hold up when I take it to the track, and don't care to find out after the car rolls over lol

Plain steel isn't going to work, that will just bent and eventually break.

What you need for a sway bar is 4340(chromoly), which could be cut and welded, but is some times tricky to work with and must be re-heat treated after welding.

A sway bar is basically a spring.
