im pulling the head to do a metal head gasket, and wondering if i should upgrade and of my valvetrain for this setup.im taking it to a friends shop where he will port and polish,3 angle valve job and replace stem seals and put it all back together.im curious to know if i should give him new springs, reatainers, or any of that sort,or will the original parts be sufficient.i looked into the hks cams and springs, but it says only stage 2 u need cams, and thats 400+.im not goin past that,so im kinda stuck in the water.any help?

what lift/duration cams are you going to use? i would suggest that if you are raising lift, then you should get some aftermarket springs, toda makes some good titanium springs that are around 220 bucks for a set....also get yourself some rocker arm stoppers, i had friend float a valve with his sr and it tore everything to peices....so rocker arm stoppers and new valve springs will help stop valve float at high rpm...hope that helps
