Post

Alright everyone. Im tired of having this beautiful car sit around and having no luck solving my problems. Ive down massive amounts of overlooking on this car and am having no luck.

STORY: Shes was born back in 1989 to a poor white family here in the US and was givin a ka24de. Which for many years of her life she was happy. Than one day tragedy struck!!! and she relized she had 228,000 miles on her. Her life was passing her by until she met a wonderful NICO man and offered her a second chance in life. Than at that time the man gave her a TLC and went on to helping her out in many ways. But he noticed that she was no longer the car that he purchased and that she was dying and didnt have much longer to go. So he rushed her to his garage and perfomed a very DRASTIC operation and proceeded to replace all of her main components and give her a new engine. She was very happy with that but couldnt keep up with the rest of the girls in the world. So he added a little more love to her and got her some new 5lugs and brakes. With this she was very please and she continued to love him. Than he was happy with her and bought her some new shoes which she also liked. Than time went on and they grew apart she still wouldnt please him the way he wanted and he got frustrated and like any man would, he kicked the ***** to the curb!!!! Thats when i found her and thats where my story begins.......

lol i totally just made that crap up, thanks for reading. NOW ONTO THE BUILD

This is my 1989 hatch that i bought from REPO MAN on here and he bought prior to him from another NICO member. So this car has been around in the community for awhile now and hopefully for much much longer.

The good:

-Low Mile, Red Top SR swap with almost no miles since swap completed.

-New, OEM oil pan installed before first start.

-SR radiator and fan shroud, so no crossover coolant hose/pipe.

-MR downpipe, test pipe and brand new BRM exhaust.

-Five lug conversion done with Ichiba hubs purchased from Enjuku. New parts, not used.

-Buddy Club Spec II coilovers. These would go for over $1800 new.

-Big brakes. Z32 calipers with SPL brackets to run Z33 track rotors. These brackets have since been discontinued.

-S14 seats, good shape.

-Dash is completely UNCRACKED. Carpet and the rest of the interior is in good shape too.

-ContiSport Contact 225 45 17 tires in good shape all the way around. Wheels are Konig Tantrum, sized 17x8 with 35mm offset

-Greddy BOV and hotpipe

-OBX catch can

-NISMO FPR

The problem with the car is that its running rich and other issues keep arising. She wont snap into boost and i have no idea why and thats why REPO man sold it. Now the damn thing doesnt idle right either. Was trying to check my tach but thats not working now. AND YES i know how to bypass it and hook it up on the ECU to the CAS wire. Isearched. but i havent done it yet.

Ive checked all vacuum lines and fittings and im sitting at 18-20Checked injectors, no leaking of anykindchecked maf and cleaned itrecirc the stock bov and still same problem so i got the greddy oneI just reset the timing on the car but still same thing.checked the original fpr and it was bad. so the nismo one is on there

Things i need: WIDEBAND, Fuel Pressure gauge becuase without these i have no idea what my AF ratio is and what my FP is with the nismo one on there.

Heres some video footage of the car and what its doinghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ghwe4kUznkhttp ... wjtFD_VfVM

here some pics of the car:

Well there you go this is the start of halfway threw my "build project/get it running right/than mod it up.

Thanks for looking and help with any input please.

Hmmm, sorry your thread hasn't gotten any replies. Looks like a nice build. You should have posted this in 240 gen.

Maybe a mod will move it for you.

I would check for vac leaks...base timing...cam timing...maf issues..

will the car rev past 2500 ?

from what i can tell sound wise yes it will go past 2500 but i will do the CAS wire hook up tomorrow on the car. So i can get my tach going again.

it will be obvious if the car will rev past 2500.. just rev it for like 2 seconds straight, if it's a maf problem it will just cut out and all.

for the car not to be able to go into boost, it has to be a hideous vac leak/timing problem.

Of course a bad maf will mess with timing and air values, so i would start there.
