I don't find my BMW to be any more expensive than an Infiniti product. If you're taking your car to a dealer to be fixed, any car is expensive. A BMW mechanic may be more expensive than others, but if you do your own work, it's not bad at all.

And unlike SOME OTHER German brands I could mention, BMW actually does what WORKS, not what their designers stubbornly decide they're going to do.

Want to change the oil on your Benz? Have fun unbolting seventeen trillion bolts securing a ballistic-grade plastic undertray that runs half the length of the car. AND THE FILTER'S NOT EVEN DOWN THERE. THAT'S JUST TO DRAIN THE EFFING OIL. Hasn't anyone in Stuttgart ever heard of a pass-through? TWO BOLTS AND A COVER FOR A DRAIN HOLE YOU IDIOTS. @#$%!

I could change the oil on my Q45 faster! And on that car even when you DO find where the Hell those crazy engineers hid the filter AND manage to fit a filter wrench AND YOUR ARM into that psychotic spot and then turn it enough to remove the filter, it dribbles all over EVERYTHING and you spend ten minutes cleaning it up.

Its actually pretty genius. Market it as aerodynamics and protection, but in practice it persuades owners to take their car to the dealer for basic maintenance. Now thats thinking with your moneystick Jimmay!

You're not a typical BMW owner. One of my son's friends father recently bought a new AWD 3 series for his 16 yr old daughter (he's a traditional new BMW owner, who can drive in a downpour with the windows down because the hot air inside the car keeps the rain out :). Unsurprisingly, she tapped a curbstop while parking and damaged both front rims after about a week. Just the rims cost him over $800 to replace. And when you add in the tires, balancing, towing, and labor, I wasn't sure which smoked more... his ears or his wallet.

Like Wes says, I own a BMW, I'm not a BMW owner. I'm happy I had a 77 Caprice Classic 2dr as my first car. Maneuvering that thing around made everything else after that wicked easy to park etc. I remember trying to parallel park that beast, man that sucked.

E46 is pretty darn dependable as long as you avoid the M3.

Evidently June 25th was the last day of Altima Coupe production.

In a letter from Nissan:
On June 25, Nissan ended production of the
Altima Coupe, which was introduced as part of
the fourth generation Altima family in
2007. When the fifth generation Altima debuted
for the 2013 model year, production of an
unchanged Altima Coupe was extended for an
additional year at the Smyrna, TN assembly plant.
Sales of the Altima Coupe accounted for a
very small percentage of the Altima’s overall
sales mix since the model’s inception, in line with
the modest size of the mid-size coupe market in
North America. With the popularity of the
redesigned 2013 Altima sedan, a decision was
made to consolidate resources at Smyrna,
Canton and Decherd Powertrain in an effort to
keep the Altima near the top of a very
competitive and growing mid-size sedan market.

To me that letter officially nixes any redesign.

I'm looking forward to what's next.

Be careful what you wish for. That might just be the last coupe (besides the Z) that Nissan EVER builds. :frown: Nothing they've done lately contradicts that.

Yea, I'm afraid Bex is probably right. I'll be floored if we actually see a BRZ competitor.
