Sometimes when I'm on the highway and a truck or car in front of me moves into a different lane, a huge swarm of love bugs comes and dies on my windshield. Then I have to wipe them all off. I thought this story would be more interesting than it actually was.

God, I hate those things. They're not out in full force at all yet. 1 billion dead love bugs on the front of my car = me being annoyed.

Wait, so you washed your car and it turned from white to black?

I bet you can still see all of that bug sperm with a blacklight. Hitting 2 creatures with a car while they are having sex = cockblocking.

That's pretty bad.

Ever been in DC during the Brood X cicada swarm? Every 17 years.

The air gets THICK with them, millions per acre in some neighborhoods, and they're HUGE. I had to put chicken wire over the hood scoop of my WRX in 2004 or my TMIC would have been completely gooped with their innards and carcasses after a short drive. Forget putting the windows down. It's like a biblical plague.

Hash, I hear ya, brother -- those cicadas are no better out in the midwest. We used to have them so bad in Missouri that once they molted and starting "singing" you couldn't sleep or watch TV with the windows open because of the noise.

And bravo for using the correct term. I hate it when people call them "locusts".

And if anyone out there grew up next to the Mississippi river, I'm sure you have seen the annual riverbug swarms that happen.

I remember that. I was in 11th grade but I never saw thunderclouds of them. One of my old guy friends said his yard was crawling with them from underground. The thing is, those are 1 of my worst fears so Im glad I didnt get rapped by them.

Cicadas, for those that watch anime, that's the bug that makes the one distinctive noise when they cut to a calming summer setting isn't it?
