In the 80s, people left when everything went bust. Now it's booming like crazy. Including the capital region like Sherwood Park, St Albert etc, it's supposed to be a million or so. Of course this doesn't include the people who live in the penalty box in the community league hockey rink, winter camping in the river valley and other choice abodes. And it seems that 2 out of 3 vehicles are either huge SUVs or mega pick-ups with oversized suspension that requires you to use a stepladder to climb into the cab. Of course my midget Versa has nearly been creamed by these monster vehicles. One tried to drive through me in the Ikea parking lot. Maybe I should have got the red one, not the dark blue.
I actually counted big versus little cars in the parking lot the other day, and yes, it's at least 2 to 1 in favour of the monster trucks/suvs.
