I've just got my hands on a 1997 Maxima and I'm replacing the cv axels this weekend and i was thinking that since im already going to have access to the struts and springs that i should go ahead and replace them. i've heard god things about the illumina series but im not too sure about what else is out there. Don't get me wrong i've done my own research on this topic but every product description is all pro's and no con's. Any help would be great.

There are all PROS and NO CONS to the Illumina struts for a Maxima. Springs, I can only speak personally about the Eibach, they're great. I love the way the car handles. However they are VERY STIFF springs. Oh, did I mention they are VERY STIFF. You will feel mouse poop in the road, and potholes are not cool. None the less, I wouldn't trade them for anything else!

how many inches do the ebiach springs lower the gap in the wheel well? There arent too many pot-holes in my area so the stiffness of the ride wont effect me negetivly too much. Plus im always looking for something to reduce the amount of body roll this car has. Do you know if a front strut bar show noticable improvements in the amount of body roll?

As soon as the gallery is back to "working" I'll put a link in for you to see my car. FSTB made a little difference, but when I added the Eibachs and Illuminas, it made a huge difference. Next up is a RSB (rear sway bar). When I was stock, I could take a 90* corner at about 28-32mph before I started to have problems. With the springs, struts and FSTB I take the same corner at 46-50, topped out at 52. I get problems with the a$$ end sliding out at 52. BTW I drive this corner EVERY DAY. I know it very well. I also posted polls about springs and struts, so hopefully people respond, and it can help you make an informed decision for your purchace.

Link :http://nissaninfiniticlub.net/...36786 The pics you are looking for are kinda older, so you'll have to scroll thru some other crap to see the wheel gap. Mind you, I'm still running 17" stock wheels with a 235/45/ZR17 tire.

Tires [soft fast wearing low void to tread ratio] create 90% of potential braking and handling...............Measure G forces!

The brakes pad selection and the suspension can each affect the parameters by maybe 10% at most.

Springs can improve things 1-2% and properly tuned sway bars another 1-2%.............usually a adjustable rear sway bar is the best bang for buck.

Oem shocks rarely last 4 years or 60k and lose rebound self expansion and stiffness as the Nitrogen escapes. Rubber seats and bushing harden from ozone and change stiffness.

Returning a car to as new means lots and lots of NEW PARTS.

The tires do have a lot to do with the cornering and braking. But the main question concerning me is the amount of body roll.

i would DEFINATELY have to agree with noah (beancooker) abou the illuminas and the eibachs! they are probably the best mod ive done to my car besides the headers, lol. i also have both front/rear strut bars and a rear sway bar. the rear strut bar isnt a necessity as much as the other too. but i would definately get a front strut bar and rear sway bar at least!!
