Ok, update time.
We finally had another track day. Seemed like it had been forever. Was right around 100 degrees out so the cars were all running hot. A removed front bumper left my fenders flopping all around so I took them off 2. Had a fun time beating on the car. Ended up on an opposing tire change/cool down schedule of most people at the track so I didn’t get a whole lot of tandem action in After a few hours of slide time, my clutch slave cylinder gave out so I slid the rest of the night with no clutch. This forced me to work on suspension only entries, which need some improvement. So it wasn’t all bad.
Few other shots from the day.
Top of 3rd entries on the outer banks
The next day we took a trip to English town for East Coast Bash. This was the first time I had gone to any sort of a drift event of this magnitude. It was insane! We were already planning on hitting the road course on July 28 th ,but this got me even more psyched.

I realized that to go to a Club Loose event, and put on the show I wanted to I would need more power. Since I was still short of properly putting an sr in the coupe,I decided to use a motor I already had sitting around. As soon as the week hit, I began ordering parts. Holset HX35 turbo, Greddy type rz BOV, Tial 38mm Wastegate, and all the flanges and accessories I would need to make it all work. Also to comply with club loose rules I purchased a new G-Force SA2010 helmet, tow straps, and fire extinguisher.
To prepare the chassis while I was waiting on parts, we cut out the rust on the passenger’s side frame rail and boxed it in.
Forgot to take a pic of it finished. I will later.
A week prior my friend that is in the shop with me nearly every night laid his bike down on the highway, so I did the body work and resprayed it for him.
He got a wobble at highway speeds, and put it down at about 50. Somehow he rode the bike back home. His was the damage. Got the fairings on the right side, needed a new helmet, and a bit of roadrash, but he was super lucky overall.
In the next few days, Parts began arriving.
Two nights ago we pulled the rb25 out of my red hatch, and began taking prepping it for it’s new home.
The exhaust manifold had been sent out to get the wastegate flange welded on, and I got a reconfirmation of how horrible everything mckinney is when both motor mounts were broken. Pic I got a Freddy intake manifold with a q45 throttle body on it off another friend, got that bolted on, and the turbo mocked up on the engine last night.
Waiting on my buddy Rob to make me some new engine mounts and studs for the turbo, and then it will be ready to put in the coupe. Either tonight or tomorrow night the ka will be removed and I’ll get everything all prepped for the rb to set in. Once its bolted in place I need to make an o2 housing to mate the turbo up to the current down pipe, and a dump pipe for the wastegate. More updates soon.
