Just got my car finished now it bucks like crazy. It will do it pretty much at random, but mainly anytime you are getting off the gas. If you are on the gas it will not do it so take offs are not bad, but as soon as you let off it will start ALMOST all the time. Sometimes it is fine and does not do it. I had it tested for a boost leak and they said their was not one, but thought it may be a TPS problem.

I have a 98 blacktop in a 89 coupe it is almost all stock except for 3"dp, 3" test pipe, 3"catback, 255 walbro, and an intake.

any help would be great...

You'll have to replace it with a new TPS sensor.

Funny you should talk about the TPS. My buddy's having TPS issues as we speak lol. What happened with his car when his tps went out was it'd just die randomly, his idle was way off, you could smell the fuel in the exhaust and so on. You can adjust it, loosen the two screws on the side and rotate the TPS up or down til you get the right voltage readings while your key is in the "ON" position. I think it's supposed to be ~0.35-0.65v closed, and 4 or was it 4.4v at wot...it's one of those two numbers. But before going through all that bs, try pulling codes from the ECU and see what you're working with first.

mine runs fine with it unplugged too, but it runs rich. Do you think I need a new one or just an adjustment?

I know it has to be there for a reason will there be an long or short term problems by leaving it unplugged?

I unplugged it this morning and the car ran great no bucking at all. Is it safe to leave it unplugged?
