Hi, I am new to the forum. I'd like to start out by saying thank you to all you guys out there. You have helped me more then once. Now I am looking for a litle more help, I have a 92 q45. It has started bucking on me. It will only do this at 1500 rpm any where from 40 to 45 mph. Can anyone help me? Big Thanks to anyone that can help.

It's probably your MAF. You can try cleaning it, and it'll probably work for awhile, but eventually, you'll have to replace it.

Instructions for cleaning:

Locate a used MAF through http://car-part.com/

Probably dirty plenum, TB plate/housing, injectors...........lugging engine that low in 4th gear is a no no especially with AC on up a mild incline. When were plugs changed and injectors last cleaned.

These problems seem to be getting worse with low BTU ethanolized fuel as the real combustion pressure [torque] falls with BTU.

Couple of cans of BG 44K [1 per tank] and 2nd can at second tankful and 500 miles should indicate where the problem is located.

What Q45tech said. Without some maintenance history, might as well try looking through a mudhole.

Keep in 3 until level and constant speed of 55 - 60 mph at sea level.

When lugging at low rpm in D produces bucking, it shows engine needs attention, most likely in the areas outlined by Q45tech. If its never been done and you have 80K+ miles, you are way overdue.

How about under plenum hoses and KS? Might as well plan on them also.
