Ok, I tried searching but nothing to pinpoint my problem. I installed the megan racing cat back yesterday and drove it fine with no problems. Actually the car ran great on the way to work, around town, and then the problem happened. I was cruising in 5th gear and stepped on the gas and suddenly I had no power. I mean i feel like I am driving a geo metro around I cannot go up hills without putting it in a low gear and slamming on the gas and I cannot just do normal driving. I changed my cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, and had my injectors cleaned and replaced, plus had the fpr cleaned and same with the rail about a month ago. Plus I used to have a nice clean exhaust note, now its as if my engine is bubbling. Plus when this happened I pressed the clutch in and tried revving it. Only got to around 5k rpm and then a limiter hit. I tried turning off the car and revving again. I think I was in neutral but it revved to normal rev limiter. Please someone help!

sry to post a reply to my own thread but here is some more info, I just took the car out again. The rev limiter is only in 5th gear at 5000 RPM. Now the Idle is screwed up with when I press on the brake at all. It dips below 500 RPM. It did this when I had 2 bad fuel injectors. I hope that isn't the case...

^if its not the injectors themselves, then check the connectors that connect to the back of them. They go bad quite often.

not just bobbling idle decreased power and bad idle, I am going to have the fuel injectors looked at tommarrow by a friend mechanic.

Ya, doesn't sound too good for ya. Might check spark plugs again, but thats just worth checking, as thats what my first guess was.

thanks guys for the input but like magic it went away by itself. I went to autozone to get some new o-rings for some injectors from a sr because I am putting a turbo in it in about a week. But I went and started it up and it ran great! I don't know what to say, maybe my car has a brain of its own and doesn't threats to the old injectors.

or maybe since its a new cat, could it be because you have to allow the cat to be broken in??

Well, its good it went away, but if it comes back, be sure and check to see if the ECU isn't throwing a code. When fuel injected cars suddenly go wonky without reason, particularly after adding a speed part, it implies "limp mode" because the computer got confused over something. Also be sure the MAF has a good connection/connector.

you probably just had to reset your ECU, and then let the ECU get "used" to the new cat. My CEL light came on because I put a K&N Filter. I know, most people would say wtf? why would it come on with a K&N Filter? Well, it did, reset the ECU, then drove it fine. :) Word of advice: Always reset your ecu (unplug battery for a few hours, or from the ECU itself) when you install something new (not oil or fuel filters, but like a new fuel pump, and anything that increases the flow of anything, like say your cat back, for instance.)
