Car starts, runs horribly, backfires and will not idle. ECU gives code 21 - No IG refference pulse, loss of primary signal.

BTM 5462 wiring - the one everyone is using on the SOHC.

Red, Ts into red/blackOrange -> coil - (gr/blk)White -> harness (gr/blk)Black to ground

One post here said something about a tach convertor part 8910. Does anybody know anything about this? Is there something I'm missing?

I spoke with the fella at MSD once about needing a tach converter on our cars and he swore up and down that none was needed.

However, EVERYONE on this forum and FA said that it was a must and wouldn't work without it.

Wouldn't work as in tach won't work or as in doesn't run worth a damn?

Called MSD, they siad I need the tach adapter.
