Whats up guys been awhile since i posted on here and had a question for everyone.

Im looking at buying another 240. And would you believe it the guy thinks its worth 7.5k. Its a 89' hatch clean body kit with a SR20DET...holy crap!70,000k on car and its legit on mileage looked at the title. But my question is he says it puts down 320-335hp with no sheets to prove it. So when i looked at it tonight it was dark but this is what i saw and also what he said was on it. Stock engine, stock injectors, fpr, fuel rail. Says upgraded stage 2 turbo but i couldnt see what kind it was. He says its a greddy but doesnt know model. Anyhow koyo rad, Greddy intercooler, greddy BV, 3" exhaust downpipe and test pipe. Stock filter, not 300zx filter. Pushes 15psi without boost controller but gauge reads fine. But i rode in it and it just didnt have the feel of a 300hp car. My friends turbo miata would woooop its a**. What do you think? BS? or is it possible to hit 300hp on stock t25 turbo or do you think it might be a t28 turbo? Which i think would be more reasonable for hp and mounting up to the t25 flange. Let me know what you think.

The car is clean and for a DD is very solid starts up runs great, compression is good and nothing sounds off at all.

theres no way to really tell without you going back during the day and getting a better look. anyone that posts in here will just be guessing since we don't have much to go on. i will say this though, no way a t25 is hitting 300whp. if the turbo is definitely stock those numbers are bs. most people say the t25 will max out at 260ish but my friend managed to do 280 on his with a tune and other upgrades and that is amazing imo

i wouldnt buy it. If you have a bad feeling about the car, dont buy it. you'll probably regret it instead of love it after you buy it.

bull

stock t25 won't make anywhere near 300, esp on stock injectors

if you're lucky, you'll get probably get like 250whp with the engine description.

7.5k is a lot! If your are gonna buy the car, I'd say the looks better be the selling point.... otherwise, PASS

tell him to dyno it, i just cant see it making 320 to 335 at the wheels with so much being stock, he might be lucky if he is even making that kind of power at the flywheel.

See its funny you guys are all thinking the same damn way I am. With so much stock on the car i have no idea with js an upgraded turbo hes squeezing out over 300hp. When it comes to looks the Car is mint! no rust no dents dings or anything. Now i dont just buy cars hardly ever off of looks. But the fact that its as clean as it is and it has the swap done are 2 major plus's. but I dont think 7.5k on it. At best in my opinoin 5kish-6k. Ive been on here awhile as a member as you guys can see and IVE seen some SEXY SEXY cars in the 5-7k range and some OMG cars around 8-10k. So thanks for all the ocmments on this i think i know what im gonna do.

Thats where i was standing man. Why would you upgrade the turbo without upgraded fuel setup. IDK, hell i went in a ride in the car with him, and as stated it just didnt have the feel of a 300hp car. So i asked and he said he was hardly getting on the car. bla blah blah blah. So anyhow TOnight is the night i Drive the car and im driving it to my shop and checking out a few things under the hood of this car. To see if this fool is straight BSin or if he "honestly didnt know".

Verdict: He doesnt know what he has and unless i can get it to a dyno, I seriously dont believe hes pushing what he says its doing. He wont let me take off the piping to look to see what turbo or anything. Which i understand i wouldnt let someone do that to mine, but i have receipts to show my s***. Anyhow Im going to go make an offer on it still, because its ALOT of car with only 70,000 (actual Miles) on a 1989. The offer is going to be much less than what he was asking but its a shot and i think i can snag it to get a great car with a TON of potential. You just dont find 240s that low on miles anymore.

Who upgrades a turbo without even knowing what model the turbo is? you could end up with less of a turbo than you started with. lol

The only way I know to get a "t25" to push ~300whp. Awesome turbo, spools like greased lightning.

And there is no way in hell the stock fuel system could keep up with it though.

Why don t you just buy a shell and then put your own sr in it? That way you would save some money or you could just put the rest of the money into the car.

GT2871 could but the stock fuel system is probably not.
