They do look nice but be aware that a brush bar does have a tendency to reduce the approach angle of the Xterra by several inches. This equates to reduced nose clearance on the trails.

Meaning..You increase the risk of damaging all that lower facia.

Been there done that on my own 2000 Xterra and opted for a proper winch TJM bumper from Australia.

They do add to the rugged looks of the Xterra. The Canadian dealers don't even have the units for 2007 listed in their Computer Parts Listing.

To give you an idea of cost, the 2001 Brush Guard ran around $600.00 US. Don't be suprised if it runs close to $800.00 USD.

The Factory Brush guard has the added benefit of being designed to fit all the factory mounting holes on the frame. SO that makes installation super easy.

Thanks for the reply, I don't do much trail work, it just looks cool, shoot me for doing it for looks.

They still do not have them listed in the computer for the 05 or 06, I feel like waiting for the OEM one, but I have found a few aftermarket ones that claim they bolt directly on, but of course if they don't fit you've got this hundred pound steel contraption that you need to ship back. I think I'm waiting for Nissan to get around to it so I can source it locally and have the dealership get it in their regular shipments and installed there.

I don't know why but I gotta have one

Ok, I must say..brush bar bad....they kill your approach angle if you ever do wheel...and in the cause of an accident..they cause more damage than not having one they protect nothing!!

Shrockworks good!! its an amazing bumper and they look is sweet!!

I have to agree. Shrockworks does make a sweet bumper.

I went the TJM route myself.

The factory brush bar is almost as much as a purpose built winch bumper. Perhaps BadQ45t should consider that as an alternative.

Thanks good food for thought, that aftermarket bumper looks sweet but I mostly got the thing for driving in the snow up to ski rather than to go four-wheeling. I think you guys talked me into skipping it and if I HAVE to od something one of those bumpers is in order.

For the cost of the factory brush guard you can buy that Shrockworks Bumper and be at ease knowing that it will improve the approach angle of your Xterra. This means you won't wreck the nose as easily when you do decide to hit the trails.

Since you are in California, you may be able to pick one up from Calmini and save the $150-200 in shipping.

gotta say I'm not a fan of the Calmini unit. I prefer the Shrockworks design.

But to each their own
