My wifes friend has a maxima (i think might be altima but didn't get a chance to ask before she left) with a 4 cyclinder and on the drivers side of the engine there is a vacuum line that comes up from down below does a 180 degree bend then stops.

She's been having problems with the car stalling on her and my first thought was gas filter (it sometimes stalls when she goes to a stop sign) but it might be linked to that line.

I'm not familar with the 4 cyclinders (I know a lot of the VG30's). Can someone take a look at the pic and help please!!!

Thanks guys and girls

Tom

If it's a four banger, then it's an Altima.

My 97 Maxima has a similar "vent hose" that has one side that doesn't connect to anything like what you have outlined in the picture.

I would clean the idle air control valve and check the EGR valve.

I'll move this to the Altima forum for you in hopes of getting a more accurate diagnosis.

Thanks, I was thinking it was just a vent since theres nothing around to connect to.

Did some research and found it was an altima. thanks for moving!

Pic of where it connects... I know not very good but its straight down from where it comes up.
