I just picked up a 95 s14, which supposidely had the timing chain break, will the damage be contained to the head, or is it possible it might also have hurt the bottom end of the engine? I guess what im asking is what has this repair entailed for those of you who have done it?

it might've just bent the valves, but you will still have to remove the oil pan to remove any shavings or parts from the chain.

also there is the possibility(don't know how strong the pistons are or the valves) that the valves might have put holes on the pistons, or it might've not done either since when the timing chain breaks, usually the cams will move out of position and make all valves close, maybe not at the split second that the chain breaks and the pistons are up, but who knows.
