Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I have a 2003 QX4 and the passenger side mirror broke. It looks like it was hit by a stray pebble from a lawn mover or something. The dealer wants a LOT of money to replace the entire side mirror assembly.

The mirror is a heated mirror. Is it possible for me to just scrape off the broken glass and replace it? If I do replace just the glass, will the heated mirror still work? Or, is replacing the entire side mirror assembly the only way to keep the heated mirror working?

Thanks,
Bill

Did you ever figure this out? I have a 2001 Pathfinder with a broken side mirror and I just got a replacement from the wreckers but I can't figure out how to get the mirror glass out of it. I can see the wires which go from the mirror into the mirror assembly so i'm assuming I can just pull out the mirror and unplug it and put the new one in and the heated part should still work?

I don't want to force trying to get the mirror out though and break the new one.

The mirror glass is held on by 4 clips and double-sided tape. You just have to use more force to remove.

I replaced mine a few years ago, and if I recall correctly the removal / replacement is the same as with the newer Pathfinders:

Thanks for the reply mate! I figured it out about an hour after I posted in this thread. I was trying to pry the mirror off sidewise instead of lifting from the bottom.

Thanks for the post. I was able to order 96365-4W765 GLASS-MIRROR,RH which was just the glass. After removing the old mirror from the instruction above, I just plugged in the new heated mirror and it works like a charm.
