My 2006 M45 has 102K miles on it. I drive about 30K miles each year, bought it in 09 with 43K miles. I bought the extended warranty in spite of previously telling myself I wouldn't ever do that because of all the posts on this forum talking about how necessary it was. This was just shy of the original warranty going out (based on time, not miles, due to the timing of my purchase), and as such, there wasn't a "good" price available. I could have used it once, but the dealership said they used goodwill instead of warranty and that the issue I had wouldn't have been covered (which isn't true from what others have told me). I came super close to just trading the car in, but no dealer offered me close to what I wanted. (closer to blue book value) At this point I found out that dealers don't go off of blue book value anymore. Since my commute is so long I was just gonna get a honda accord. (yes I know) But I guess it was not time.
