Earlier this year, the passenger seat back panel guides/clips snapped off while I was driving the car to work one morning. I guess one of the clips had broken some years before. So when the remaining plastic clip snapped, the seat back panel fell back onto the rear seat bench. The guides/clips are located behind the seat panel in the picture in the area of the black dots.

Has the happened to anyone with a 1st gen?

I guess an automotive upholstery repair shop may have a solution. Though I bet this will be an expensive fix.

Ive seen it twice on my 1991 q45 drivers and passenger. I had to go find them at a self serve wrecking yard. Stealership price was insane as I recall. Sadly first gen is getting older.

Not looking forward to that. I've had the bottom screw holes break off, but I was able to fix that with bigger washers, or maybe it was aluminum flashing... I wonder if there's an area that has enough flat contact to add some Velcro or something?

That's an idea. I may need to build up something for attaching some velcro.

I was hoping Mike G. would have a fix like the glove box hinge replacement. :)
