I took my valve cover off and discovered that I have four broken rocker arms, I noticed that my cam shafts looked scared and some small metal chips. What else could be damaged, and what to do next.

Bearings, Lifters, Rocker Arms, Cam Shafts, and maybe valves.

I mis shifted and the motor over reved basically. My 4th gear has been hard to shift into recently and when I shifted into it and let off the clutch the rear tires locked up and the motor reved to about 9500 rpm. sux!

very easy fix..just throw some new rocker arms in there..i have several in fact if you need them..you might think after you install new rocker arms that a problem still exists, but dont get excited right away..when you break rocker arms your lifters bleed down causiing the valves not to open all the way and giving your engine an unfamilar starting sound..will sound very fast.. you will have to crank it several times over the course of like 15 to 20 minutes..crank a few times every couple of minutes to pump the lifters back up..i seriously doubt you did any type of valvetrain damage..i have broken my fair share and never ever damged a valve..lemme know how she runs after the rocker arm swap..if you need any lemme know

(dont forget to knock down the scaring on the lobes of the cams from when the rocker arms broke..scratches arent nice to look at but the cam will still perform its duties just fine.

I would like to get those arms from you if possible, I need four that I know of, and hopefully that will take care of it, also did you install a rocker arm stopper after you broke yours?

I would replace the cams as well. Broken rocker arms usually lead to scorched cams that can't be used again. At least I wouldn't want to use them again.

Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember to re-shim everything after your install.

I appreciate the tip, wondering if you guys know if the non-turbo sr rocker arms are the same as the turbo? and again thanks for the information! I had to use the x-mas smileys

yes they are the same..turbo and non turbo as far as the rocker arms are concerned, and i had rocker arm stoppers in there..but the way i damaged or broke my rockers was due to me misshifting with a very large turbo and aggressive cams clicking off 11k on stock lifters...(not a good idea)

You can use rocker arms from a FWD SR20, like from the old Sentra SE-R or G20. Thats what I am running in my DET head right now. I pulled them out of a G20 at a local wrecking yard. I also pulled all the valve shims, lash adjusters, and anything else I could get, cost me $5.
