So now that my shocks are in good shape, I'm wondering about fixing the one thing on the car that doesn't work as it should, my remote lock system.
A few months ago, my remote got rather flaky and stopped working over the space of a few days, and then never worked again. I checked the keyfob itself, and discovered that the battery connections were pretty loose and didn't hold up well. When I taped them up, nothing worked. I tried resetting the programming on the car, but no go.
Without a CONSULT reader, is there any way for me to determine whether or not the problem is in the car, or the keyfob? I've looked at the FSM, but if there's a process in there that'll run a diagnostic on the receiver, I didn't see it.
Any suggestions?
