The fat end of my plug wire broke and is stuck around the spark plug. This is the middle plug on the drivers side of a VG30E out of an Infiniti M30 (same engine as z31). I've been using an assortment of tools to try to get this thing out of there but it's very deep in there and very hard to access. next step I think is to start taking my engine apart. However, I would appreciate some advice from some of you who may have experienced this or just have a good idea...

I'm thinking maybe to try a vacuum or something next before I start taking the engine apart.

thanks (I searched and found nothing quite like this)

Long needle nose pliers should do the trick. Just run to your local hardware or automotive store (some have tools) and buy some long ones.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. I will try something like that. However, this thing is very deep in there and there is almost no room to manouver. I'll go buy some of those right now and report back.

I bough these:

11" needle nose pliers

The plug Is under here:

Problem is I need longer, skinnier pliers. I will look for some on Saturday. If that doesn't work then I will remove the throttle body and that other thing near it that is in the way and try to get at it with these 11" pliers.

I just had a brain fart... and realized I was thinking of this all backwards...

Can you just pull the plug itself out? I can't tell from the picture if there's something covering the whole thing or not but if you can get a spark plug socket over it then just pull the plug out and that will make it much easier.

I can't believe I didn't think of suggesting that first. Yesterday must have not been my day.

Impossible to get the spark plug out. The sparkplug is surrounded by the broken end of the plug wire. I first need to remove this stuck piece of plug wire. It's extremely difficult to get to and stuck in there tight.

My whole entire goal here was to change the plug and wire. However, the ancient wire broke.

Next step is to try to break the plug wire end up with a chizzle or long screwdriver and use a long grabber tool to hopefully pick out the pieces.
