you would have an exhuast leak and it would take longer for the turbo to spool, along with a raspy sound coming from the engine

did it snap flush with the head?

yes it did completely flush...i tried drilling a small hole into the bolt and forcing a bit in there and removing it slowly but the sucker won't turn for nothing...

Did you use an easy out drill bit. Mine broke inside the block, not even flush, and I got it out. Exhaust leaks are pretty annoying, I suggest fixing it.

I have one I have to get out as well. Haven't decide which way to do it on mine yet either.=(

reverse threaded

or drill out to the next size and helicoil. a broken stud isnt a big deal, nothing to replace a head over

exactly like virus said, an easy out should get it since you were able to dill a small hole into it

another vote for easy-outs here. ive pulled 4 broken studs out that way already. make sure you drill into the center and you'll be good.

This is a little more advanced but I've done the same thing before. I welded a bolt to the stud then used a torch and heated around the stud. then used a wrench and unscrewed the stud by wrenching on the bolt I welded to the end of the stud. Works well. Also besure to spray some lube in the threads to save the threads.

An easy-out will get it... If not I second the heat the outside metal. That always works wonders...

I had the same thing happen on my car... I sugest replacing all the studs when you work on exahust mani, dont be too cheep.

I was planning on welding a nut on mine. I actually had two, one I was able to do with the above method. The other is about 1/8th of an inch inside and going to be more difficult to get out. Although thinking about it. The weld really wouldn't stick to the aluminum head. Hmmm..might try it anyway.
