Hi All,

Few days ago my ignition key got broken inside the ignition cylinder. I've been trying really hard to take it out but still unsuccesful.

Any suggestions/tips for resolving this problem.

Also how much of an effort would be required to remove the ignition cylinder( that seems to be the last option) and what are the steps involved in doing so ?

I do not want to go to the dealership or to any locksmith as they are charging too much to take my key out.

regards
Shailesh

First off, ouch! My only idea (and do this at your own risk) would be to get a decently powerful magnet and position it on the end of your ignition cylinder. You might get lucky. Otherwise, I'd go with the dealer or a locksmith, even though they might charge you more than you want to pay.

Good luck!

I have to ask...can you still start the car?

^^ Depends if the key is broken completely off. He could probably use a screw driver to start it.
But he needs the chip in order to start it..
So probably no unless he got the chip next to the ignition.
