Easy out? Plus, when you went to put the head bolts on, did you do it in the right order and sequence??? In other words, did you go straight to 120 ft.lbs or go in order from 30 to 60 to 90 to 120?

I broke a ARP head stud, torqued it in the right FSM sequence(30-60-70-80). Than to ARP's 80ft. lbs. It snapped at about 70ft. lbs. They cost like $36 a piece. I might need a new touque wrench.

Did you use new head bolts?

The old head bolt was probably stretched already.

well im going to take it to a machine shop because i dont want to mess up the block doing that easy out thing. since alluminum blocks are pretty easy to scar up.

since i tourqed the other bolts down to 120 in the middle....would it be a good idea to just go ahead and get a new head gasket to put in with the ARP studs ill be ordering?

Those are torque to yield bolts. They should not be used more than 1 time.

Are you using a stock head gasket? They work very well up to about 16psi. Some metal head gaskets can be used more than one time. I Don't know about the stock head gasket. If you do go with a mls HG, cosworth is recommended.
