Broken head bolt when torquing down

I have just broke two head bolts when torquing down head Im getting tired of pulling head off. Has anybody ever broken a fel-pro head bolt before reaching 59 lbs? parts house said nobody has ever had this problem in his 40 years of owning the parts house torque wrench is working fine New bolts both times ran tap to clean out threads

Did you use any lube on the bolts? Following torque sequence?

yes i lubed the blts blew out the holes & vacuumed also. First go around it was #3 that snapped 2nd go around it was # 5 that bkoke #4 was about a 1/4" longer when removed it was ready to snap also. I just finished with the head bolts (differant brand) i had no problem about 15 yrs ago i bought fel-pro bolts 3 of 10 were bent when i opened the box Quality is not important with them i guess. Very interesting. Did the felpros length match the stock oem ones? Maybe its the wrong part number. The new ones you got though all worked as planned?

If you do it again, try using a different torque wrench and see if it still happens. I've never heard of head bolts breaking, usually they stretch before anything
