Broken Gas pedal?

My 2006 M45 has a broken gas pedal, and I feel like its going to stick and cause me to get into an accident, I might as well be driving a toyota. It broke today and I'm not really sure how, but its the bottom of the gas pedal that attaches to the floor by a cheap a** piece of plastic (bad engineering IMO). I looked to see if infiniti had a recall for this but i could find nothing. If anyone had this problem before how much did it cost to fix and/or did infiniti help with the cost because I believe this is a flaw. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

What ever happened with your gas pedal?? My check engine light has come on and the code says I have a faulty accelerator pedal!!! So I must replace the gas pedal is what I've been told... How much did you get yours for?? Or what did you do to solve your problem??

i also broke the gas pedal in my 2006 M, in the exact same spot (the hinge that connects the bottom of the pedal to the floor) and it was VERY scary to drive. it was fixed under warranty and cost me nothing. i cant see this fix costing more than $100

I switched the regular pedals to sport pedals yesterday. (with 370z dead pedal)
pedal cover is held down with one nut and a retaining/lock clip on the joint.

Yours is a different problem then the O.P. since the pedal is only a cover.
The accelerator unit is above the pedal.

Ok. Thanks! I reset the "service engine soon" and I'm good for a while... No engine failure but that code is suppose to be my accelerator sensor out or about to go out for now I'm good!!

Maybe there was a loose connection when you started the car that tripped it?
