Broken Gas Gauge...quick help plz

The gauge worked on my old cluster but when I put in the jdm one, it stopped working all together. The needle is stuck right under half a tank. I was just gonna play by mileage to find out how much gas I got but it didnt work to well...just ran outta gas on the way to my class. Anyone know what the deal is and if so, how to fix it real quick?? Thanks

probobly a different signal for the 2. try puting the old one back in and see if it works.
