not sure about where it is in the fsm, but you're correct about this^Mudgen wrote:2. Who are the good vendors to check out for this? It appears that you have to buy the whole assembly, can't get just a lens.
Yeah, that's what I had guessed after looking at the shop manual. But I just had a service advisor look at it, and he says ~$210 for the part including tax, but only $55 labor. But it's considered damage, not warranty. I'm not sure it's worth it to try to keep the appearance of the car up, as bad as the paint is. I figure I'm going to get whacked on cosmetics at trade time no matter what.kmckis1029 wrote:the price for a fog light assembly is ridiculus... i found out after i hit a tire tread on the highway... hopefully its a warranty fix... if all else fails and you not afriad to work on your car, buy the part and install your self. I'm sure the dealer will charge at least 2 hours for the job, so like $200 in labor... smh
It has a hole and cracks, but most of the cracks radiate from the hole, so I expect to lose that argument.audtatious wrote:Did it have just a hole or did it have a hole and crack? I had that happen to mine where the rock hit a hairline crack and it looked like someone shot it with a BB.
LOL i was thinking the same thing when i read the original post. Maxima all over again.audtatious wrote:That's one thing I hated about my Maxima was the low fog light glass would crack and eventually break. What I found out is most of the issue was caused by the heat from the halogen bulbs. The glass would heat up and if you got it wet it would eventually crack and lead to failure. I replaced the fog lights on my Maxima three times. The third time I retrofitted them with HID instead of halogen and they never broke again.
