ok so i tore into the engine yesterday and after a co pression test (160 flat across) and removing the oil pan and valve covers etc, the engine looks to be spot on.. so we removed the gearbox to find

I broke 3 of the flywheel bolts and the flywheel was bout to vibrate itself off and probably flyout the bellhousing lol

dont know if this is a resulf of not fitting it properly last time, too much power like i would like to think lol, or and unbalanced flywheel.. but it means time to upgrade...

so i'll be looking into some ARP flywheel bolts and probably the SR lightweight flywheel & Clutch Combo..

(anyone have access to CA20 reduction type starter?? - was trying to get it locally and got shafted)

as long as it done via Fedex's or Fedexkinkos. shouldnt cost more than $10 to ship b/c fedex doesnt charge much on weight only dimensions of the package.

I THINK this is the starter you're after actually. I could be wrong though...

according to http://www.boschusa.com, there are two part #'s for the CA20E.

The first (SR148X) is a direct drive starter and has two original manufacturers and designs,; Mitsubishi and Hitachi.

The second (SR255X) is the reduction type starter manufactured by Hitachi only.

So basically, Float is correct!
