So Im extremely pissed right now. I just broke a fly wheel bolt. The torque for them is 90 ft lbs right? Also how do I fix it? Remove the bolt and heli coil it?

go to advance or somewhere and get an extractor bit set. you drill a pilot hole if you can with a small drill bit then use the extractor. its basically a reverse drill bit. it goes in drilling it to the left.

Yes that's the Right torque. I broke 2 myself. E-z out didn't work for me as I got it to about 80 ft. lbs. Reverse drill bits didn't work for me either. I had to drill a small pilot hole, then try said methods, then I drilled threw the hole bolt bigger and bigger until there was a thin sleeve of a bolt remanding ( shaped like a O ). I then collapsed one side ( the sleeve of a bolt collapsed looked like a C shape instead of a O ) and bent the remands until I could extract it. It was a true PITA to do that 2 times. It's really hard to explain and I hope some one understands.

I ended up only go to 70 ft. lbs. with lock tight with the new bolts. Only heli coil it if the threads are stripped.

you probably reused your bolts didn't you. If you buy new bolts, that should not happen.

I stretched 3-4 bolts when I reused mine. I was lucky I caught it before it snapped. From now on I will always buy new flywheels bolts.

supreamS14 did you have any problems with only torquing them to 70?

I torqued my reused bolts to around 100 ft lbs with no loctite. God I hope they stay tight

It did! $#!+ happens.

No. Loc tight has kept them in place even @ 7500 RPM!

You're going to have to keep working on that reverse drill bit method because I doubt you have any space to weld on a head from an existing bolt.

It's going to be a PITA especially with the amount of torque thats set already on it.

Try putting some WD40 and let it set for awhile then do the reverse drill bit method.
