My '07 Versa SL started dying out of the blue a couple weeks ago, I took it to the dealer and after having it the whole week, they said they fixed it. The day after I got it back, it died again. That was last Sunday and they still have it. I've been able to work out transport so far because they told me the warranty doesn't cover loaner cars, but I don't have access to the car I've been using any more. I haven't heard anything from them since Wed and they're closed today. Other than calling them tomorrow morning and insisting they give me something to drive, does anyone have any advice for how to deal with this situation and what my recourse might be?

One of the reasons dealers always try to sell extended warranties is because they provide a vehicle in situations like this. I'm assuming that you didn't buy one. Typically, standard maufacturer's warranties don't make provision for subtstitute transportation when a vehicle is disabled because of a warranty problem like this.

Agreed, same here, no maint plan, but free loaner, depends on the dealership.

A good dealer, interested in providing good service, would provide a loaner in this case. They had the car for a week and can't fix it?

I would contact the general manager of the dealership and discuss the situation with them. Good luck.
