Would a busted distributor cap affect the performance of my engine? I got to looking under the hood and noticed that my cap was cracked and pieces were missing.

Thats just the distributor cap cover...You can just take that off..But if your cap is broken then yes it can affect performance big time..Cause water could get up in there..
