Hi guys, does anyone what these 2 ground wires are for? They are located by the dual muffler mode box in the rear of the car. Ground wire #1, you can see that one lead to the rest of the wire a few inches away but the 2nd ground wire, it's bolted onto the exhaust and don't see anything dangling nearby that would lead to that. There's also a clicking noise when I accelerate from a stop right by those 2 cut grounding wires. Pics attached. This is for a 2004 m45.

Grounds to the pipes are simply to make sure static doesn't build up and affect the readings from the A/F and O2 sensors. Manifolds often don't make a solid ground to the block, allowing a voltage differential to build up between the pipe and the engine. Just make sure there's one good ground on each pipe anyplace south of the front cats.

Hi VStar, don't know if you remember my previous posts. You were helping me with a constant crankshaft sensor code and o2 sensor that keep going off. Could these cut cables be the reason?

Sure, any kind of ground strap will work. The originals were probably braided and uninsulated because of the heat, but you can easily use regular copper, just strip off the insulation and use uninsulated crimp terminals. You need to find an attachment back a little ways from the cats, if you have to attach to the lower cat flange then use steel cable instead of copper.
