So I was working on installing those ES subframe bushing inserts, and a bolthead for that thin bar that links the subframe to the chassis snapped. It's a PITA because it broke flush with the bottom of the floor pan, and those broken bolt extractors aren't working out so far.

So my question is, can I get to it from the interior, by pulling the carpet? Anyone got any experience with this?

Post a picture? If your talking about what I think your talking about its a pain in the a**.

Im just confused cause I don't know of any bolts that hold the subframe on. I'm thinking you broke one of those thick white studs?

Pics would really help.

I've had similar troubles lately, what I discovered was that after the head of the bolt sheared off there was a lot less pressure on the bolt so I was able to use a very small punch and tap the sheared part of the bolt out very slowly.

If you think this process might work but need more info I can explain more thoroughly... If the bolt was really stuck in there to begin with though I don't think my method will work.

Good luck!

spray on some PB blaster or you other brand and let it sit and go get a reverse drill bit. run it at low speed and it will grab. those work better than bolt extractors :dblthumb:
