I know there is a J38751-95INF connector and terminal pin kit, but how do you go about identifying the one you need replaced? The alternator harness connector, and others on top of the engine get a lot of heat and become brittle in time. When you try to remove it, it may crumble in your hands, like I experienced, and then you will need a replacement. Is the dealer the only source of connectors? Anybody have this problem?

i had this problem a few years ago... your best bet is to hit up a junk yard and hope they have the harness still in tact and cut the plug you need off with enough slack. i was lucky enough to find a harness on ebay. dealer was charging me almost 1500 since they don't sell the plug seperately. hope this helps, but i'm sure you already knew that.

Not a bad idea for some of us "junk yard frequent flyers" to snag some extra harness connection plugs just to keep handy for the day when something like that happens.
