Screen says Err as soon as you switch to CD. I know there are quite a few threads out there but I'd like to know if you guys think it would be worth it to get it fixed and sell it or if there is anyone out there who would buy it and fix it for resale.

I am getting an aftermarket installed today.

Oops I can see now that you are already replacing. Good call. The cons of replacing: -you might get the car audio bug and start replacing everything else.... -you have to take the face plate everywhere (not a problem with Bose) The pros: -way better sound -no more Bose crap

Already got the "bug" about 12 years ago. Speakers and 5 channel are next... then i'll start looking at sub options, I was pricing out some custom fiberglass boxes for the rear pass. side... then I noticed JL makes a (custom) prefab box for the drivers rear, I haven't priced it out yet.

My drivers seat just stopped moving front to back today so that will be my next project

Oh, BTW I parts and labor to swap out for a new deck was around $225. That includes wiring up the steering wheel controls to my Pioneer. Not cheap but it was worth it... I don't have time to do this stuff anymore.

Dont even bother with the JL one, its $500 for a 10" 150 watt sub and you still need an amp. I bought a 12" Infinty sub and Kenwood amp for about $200 and I am still in the process of making a custom box for it.

Thanks for the info, i was never a big fan of the pre-fab boxes. I have a Memphis baby-bell (5ch digi amp) and a couple sub options 12" Boston or 10 L7 laying around the house... just need to decide which I want to use.

Finally got a chance to play with the new HU last night... sounds much better even using the stock speakers, but never good enough.
