I was taking the timing chain cover off and I did not take the oil pump off. well low and behold behind the oil pump was a bolt still holding the cover on. Well as you may guess; yes; it broke. Also lets say you are looking at the front of the block with the cover off. Okay there are supposed to be two chain guides! The one the passenger side of the block is still there but a little worn. The one on the drivers side is in little pieces completely shattered. Which would mean that there are little bitty pieces all throughout my motor and in the pan. My questions are do any of you have an old timing chain cover and be willing to sell it? Has this happened to any of you? I am guessing that nissan does not sell these guides, because it looks like they come with the block? Is it just time for a new motor? If so do any of you have or know of one for sell?:help As always thank you for your response and sorry for so many questions.

You can pick up an updated timing chain kit from most auto parts stores (mine was $89 from Autozone). The update is the plastic guide on the drivers side is now reinforced with steel to last longer. The kit should come with camshaft sprocket, crank sprocket, timing chain, tensioner and tensioner arm, and the chain guide.

As for your front cover, best thing i can say is check a junkyard.
