...but I am lucky; I had the forethought to have an extra key made so I can still drive on to Texas.

I am currently in Newnan, GA, and I have been unable to open my trunk since leave my home in Maine. I drove through all that heavy wind and rain last Saturday and wonder if that had something to do with my power button on my door not unlocking the trunk. But the key didn't work either so of course I forced it and broke the key off.

Has anyone had similar problems with the trunk lockWhat did you do to get it open.

My trunk lock is temperamental at times as well, I just jiggle the key until it opens. And I too broke a key off in my lock, I just grinded down some tweezers until they fit and pulled the broken piece out. It was a pain in the a**, but it worked. Good luck!

Hello jdurrty,

Thanks for the tip. I am in Galveston now and on my vessel for the next 28 days. Once I get back ashore, I will resume my road trip to California, but will try that tweezers trick.

By the way, are you near The Phoenix area? Do you get your replacement parts from The Infiniti dealer in that area?

i sprayed white lithium grease in my key holes and it helped loosen them up a bit. the trunk does seem to be difficult. ive noticed that if it feels hard you just turn it slightly counter clockwise and then clockwise and it turns easier.

Thanks again. I will work on this as soon as I can get this trunk open

There is also a switch in the glove box that enables/disables the truck switch on the driver door. sometimes mine gets switched off on accident when putting thing back in the box.
