apparently, when you double the factory horse power, have a 6 puck clutch and some halfway sticky tires. your factory rear end will only last so long... hammerd 2nd and 3rd gear, and then it sounded like my exhaust was dragging. really aluminum sounding. at first, i thought my exhaust was dragging on the ground. but nothing is leaking, or dragging. its an SE car with the VLSD, and everything is stock. rattling noise comming from the rear end. the car drives perfectly fine, but it makes an odd vibration noise. no actual vibration in the car, and it only happens when accelerating forwards. nothing when coasting, and nothing in reverse. im thinking its something simple, like something came disconnected. if by chance i blew an axle/half shaft, what can i upgrade to if im planning better traction and more power?

it was bound to happen, but 4k miles? for refrence, the car has 47,500 on it. so the VLSD still functions perfectly. well, did. no idea now. i dont have the balls to launch it, as it sounds pretty bad. no grinding noise, just sounds like some aluminum dragging on the ground.

i doubt you broke the final drive, they are very well made and can handle some serious power...im placing my bets on destroyed subframe bushings.meh, who knows gotta crawl under there and take a look.

i was thinking that was the culpret. but no noises when coasting, or in reverse. even when going over severe imperfections in the road. although, it only seems to happen when i put load on the suspension. hmmm.

i tightened them up, and the vibration is much less, but its still there. hmmm. the car doesnt shake at all, so im thinking its not the driveshaft itself. its a mckinney DS.

yeah, just drop some lock tight on them, I always had trouble after comming home from the 1/4 mile they would be loose from launches and hard gear changes. Check your half shaft bolts next, and also your trans mount.
