The previous owner of this engine broke off an exhaust manifold stud. I assume I can just "easy-out" the old one...but how do I replace it once I get the old one out?

just buy a stud and screw it in. The stud has two threaded sides.

You might have to use a heli-coil after you drill the old one out..But the Heli-coil is stainless steel so you will never strip it out.Sould be pretty easy to do.you might try the ARP studs if you have money to play with..Ill never brake one of those..

good luck with it.

Well to answer your question....

To install the new stud since they are double side threaded, you take two of the nuts that you would use to put on the exhaust manifold/header and tighten them against each other then thread the stud in.
